Wink from Pscl to the transport hub, multi-level car parks | Patna News

A pedestrian subway under construction near Patna Junction

PATNA: People will be relieved from heavy traffic congestion on Station Road as board members of Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL) on Monday passed the proposal to construct a two-story multi-modal transport building on more than 10 acres of land in the former Bakri Bazaar area as part of the station redevelopment project. The facility would serve as a terminal or depot for city buses, autorickshaws and private taxis.
The estimated cost for the G+2 multimodal transport hub is around Rs 66 crore. A pedestrian metro is under construction to link Patna Junction with a multi-level car park and the proposed multi-modal transport building. The metro and the redevelopment of the multi-level car park near Buddha Smriti Park are part of the project.
PSCL has also approved the proposed construction of multi-level parking lots at eight locations in the city to reduce random parking on the roads. The eight locations are Gandhi Maidan Road, Exhibition Road, Fraser Road, Station Road, Budh Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, East Boring Canal Road and Boring Road. In addition, pedestrian bridges will be constructed near Gola Road Mor, RPS Mor, Patna Zoo (Gate Number 1), Sheikhpura Mor, Vidyut Bhawan, Visvesvaraya Bhawan, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Bhootnath Road crossing and Kumhrar crossing, so people can cross the road without any hassle.
PSCL board members approved a total of 13 schemes including installation of LED display on the roof of Bihar Museum, beautification of flyovers, bridges and roundabouts and construction of a biodiversity park near Digha Ghat. A yoga and naturopathy center will also be established at the biodiversity park.
The Maurya Tower will be developed as a nine-storey building with the facilities of a rooftop garden, food court and parking lot. Under the flyover beautification project, PSCL selected Chiraiyatand flyover, R-Block-Beerchand flyover and Atal Path-Hatali Mor Bridge.
GPO, Fraser Road, Income Tax, Railway Station, Ramgoolam Chowk, Chiraiyatand, Dinkar, Premchand Rangshala, McDowell and Rajendra Nagar golambar are some of the roundabouts to be beautified.

The civic body’s 26 public parking spaces have virtually turned into dumping grounds with more than 300 vehicles, including four- and two-wheelers, left unattended, prompting authorities to consider auctioning them off if the owners do not claim them.

PUNE: The civic body’s 26 public parking spaces have virtually turned into dumping grounds with more than 300 vehicles, including four- and two-wheelers, left unattended, prompting authorities to consider auctioning them off if the owners do not claim them.
Shriniwas Bonala, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) traffic planner, said: “An investigation of all vehicles parked for more than 48 hours would be carried out by PMC. The owners would be contacted. If they do not give a valid reasons for parking the vehicles or failing to show up to claim them, they would be scrapped.”
He said this initiative would be undertaken to free up parking spaces and make them available to the needy.
According to PMC officials, some undervalued vehicles were stolen earlier and sold at cheaper rates. “Migrants left these vehicles behind on their way back to their hometowns. So neither the original owners nor the migrants claim them,” one said.
Madhav Jagtap, the head of PMC’s anti-encroachment department, said, “PMC issues public notices urging vehicle owners to take them. If no one claims the vehicles, the civic body explores the possibility of an auction to scrap them. The bidding process because the same thing happens.”
The Regional Transportation Office (RTO) claimed it had a very limited role in disposing of abandoned vehicles. It is mainly the work of the municipal corporation and the traffic police department. Whenever police or company officials spot such vehicles, they write down the registration numbers and/or chassis numbers and send them to RTO.
“We find out the contacts (name, contact number, address) of the owners of the abandoned vehicles and send them either to the civic body or to the police. They then contact the owners. The vehicles are auctioned off if their owners do not don’t want to take them back,” said an official from RTO, Pune.
In the event of an auction, RTO provides an agent to carry out the valuation of the vehicles, after which they are sold to scrap dealers. “In many cases, vehicles end up mortgaged to banks or financial companies due to non-payment of EMIs. In such cases, we provide the contact of the financial institutions concerned to the municipal corporation or the police. Those This, in turn, contact the finance companies to see if they would be willing to tow the vehicles in. If not, a portion of the sale price of the vehicles as scrap goes to the finance companies, RTO can also contact owners of the vehicles, but we don’t usually do that due to labor constraints,” the RTO manager said.

Pierce council allows safe car parks for the homeless

PIERCE COUNTY, WA – Religious organizations, civic groups and commercial landlords in unincorporated Pierce County may soon be allowed to reserve their unused parking spaces and give them to residents who live off their vehicles as a safe and secure place to stay.

Pierce County Council passed a temporary secure parking policy on Tuesday. If it receives approval from Pierce County Executive Bruce Dammeier, starting June 1, community groups, landlords and anyone with parking spots to resell will have six months to set up and operate sites safe parking spaces. Sites can accommodate up to seven vehicles each in all zoning designations. Sites with eight or more vehicles are limited to urban areas and require additional agreement with the county. Recreational vehicles would also be restricted to large urban sites.

“We know that there are countless people who are currently living in their cars without a safe place to stay. Allowing individuals and families to park in regulated and safe parking sites provides them with a safe and temporary place to find stability as they work to improve their financial situation and seek permanent housing,” Council Chairman Derek Young said in a statement. “We have waited too long to respond to the growing homelessness crisis. This is just one way to begin to meet the needs of our most vulnerable residents.”

The proposal is part of the broader comprehensive plan to end homelessness, which the council approved in March. The plan is comprised of several short- and long-term solutions to the county’s recent rapid growth in homelessness. There are approximately 2,300 Pierce County residents who are unhoused, the council said.

Before their parking spaces can be occupied, host organizations must meet with community members to discuss neighborhood concerns. They should also check state and local sex offender registrations to see if anyone using their site is a registered sex offender.

The secure parking spaces can accommodate 2 passenger vehicles, without stipulations. The requirements for large sites are as follows:

  • Sites for three to seven vehicles must provide access to on-site washrooms or portable washrooms, drinking water and garbage cans.
  • Sites for eight or more vehicles must meet the above public health needs, as well as the creation of a safety and security plan, a code of conduct addressing behaviors such as drug and alcohol use, cleanliness and hours of silence. Site operators must also enter into an agreement with Pierce County to ensure the above requirements are met.

A supporter like council member Jani Hitchens says the goal of the parking proposal is to create smaller places where people can stay, even in communities that don’t have the space or need for one. full homeless shelter.

As someone who goes to school by car, don’t get me wrong, I’m incredibly lucky and grateful to be able to drive. It’s great to have the freedom of mobility and independence that comes with driving a car.

Historically, high school students have looked forward to their 16th birthday and the rite of passage of getting a driver’s license, and reaped the benefits that come with it.

Today, however, is a different story. Those of us who go to school by car, at least here in Venice, are a minority. That still doesn’t excuse the fact that there’s nowhere for students to park on campus, and there’s no street parking within a few blocks of the school.

The lack of adequate parking facilities in Venice is an obstacle that neither students nor staff should have to face. And the school and the district need to recognize that.

The current situation is quite inconvenient, especially associated with LA traffic and late nights. This leaves students who stay late vulnerable to theft, assault, and the possibility of being the victim of other crimes as they walk to their car, often in the dark. I often leave campus after 6:00 p.m., and as the longer daylight hours wind down, that’s something I’m starting to think about. Venice is not necessarily dangerous, but street crime is not non-existent.

It wasn’t always like that. Until major construction began in 2018, there was adequate parking for students at the rear of the school, next to the swimming pool and the old workshop buildings. These spaces have since been occupied by construction contractors and LAUSD teachers.

The current batch of teachers itself is visibly cramped. There’s a very limited number of spaces available, and there’s an abnormally high proportion of spaces for compact cars, and there’s really no getting around that; compact spaces are tiny, too tight for some sedans and all crossovers or SUVs, and regular spaces are snug anyway.

As such, many faculties in Venice can be seen double parking in places where there are no spaces. It is understandable that this lot is prohibited for students. Teachers and staff have priority, as they should. They work tirelessly for each of their students and deserve a guaranteed parking spot.

But so are the students. We shouldn’t be forced to park blocks away where our property security and personal safety are not assured. School is stressful enough without running four blocks to get to campus on time before the bell rings.

In the past, this was not a problem. There was clearly a flaw in the construction planning process, and it should be rectified.

At the end of construction, the backyard must be returned for the use of students and staff. It is large enough to accommodate those of us, students and teachers, who need space to park, and will take the strain off the overcrowded lot currently in use.

MORRISVILLE, NC (WNCN) – Your money’s no longer good in parking lots at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Parking facilities are facilities designed or provided specifically for the purpose of parking vehicles. The licensing of parking facilities includes the rental, leasing or licensing of such facilities.

The normal rules apply where the parking facility is incidental to the supply of an interest in property. In such cases where there is a single economic transaction in which the parking facility and the good are both supplied at the same time by the same seller and are located reasonably close to each other, the liability of the provision of the parking facility will normally follow responsibility for the provision of the good (see Reviews 742 Land & Properties for more details).

This was clarified by the judgment of the European Court in the Morten Henriksen case (C-173/88) where the interpretation of Article 13 B(b) of the Sixth EC Directive (now Article 135(2) (b) of the main VAT directive) concerning parking facilities has been examined.

The case concerned the exemption from VAT of the rental of garages located in garage blocks. The Court held that Article 13(B)(b) of the Sixth Directive must be interpreted as meaning that the expression ‘rooms and places for the parking of vehicles’ covers the rental of all places intended to be used for parking vehicles, including closed garages. However, such rentals cannot be excluded from the exemption when their rental is closely linked to the rental of immovable property intended for another use, such as housing, which is itself exempt from VAT.

When considering whether there is a standard nominal supply of parking facilities, it is important to remember that facilities must either:
